The Radford University Police Department is a full-service, sworn, accredited law enforcement agency devoted to the welfare of the University community. The department enforces state laws and Radford University policy on all property owned or controlled by the university as well as on adjacent streets and sidewalks.
Members of the department are dedicated to maintain and improve the safety, security, and quality of life within our community.
Effective July 1, 2020, the Virginia Community Policing Act was approved, requiring data be made publicly available on the Community Policing Reporting Database.
The legislative change is in accordance to the Code of Virginia §§ 15.2-1609.10 and 15.2-1722.1.
Data included: motor vehicle and investigatory stop records, records of complaints alleging the use of excessive force, as submitted by law enforcement agencies.
