Guest artist Wesley Williams Jr., Artistic Director of Suah African Dance Theatre, will showcase excerpts from his contemporary African dance work "Face to Face" with RU dance students. Choreography by RU dance faculty Danah Bella, Deborah McLaughlin, Inessa Plekhanova and Amy VanKirk will also highlight the program.

"Photographs and Memories: The Past and History in our Everyday Lives"

Dr. Richard Straw will discuss why people are so interested in the past, how they relate to the past individually, and who or what they trust to provide accurate and meaningful information about the past. He will make use of photographs, oral history accounts, and virtual museum exhibits to explore this topic in detail.

Moffett Lawn (Rain or Shine)
All alumni and reunions will celebrate the weekend at the Alumni Village, the largest weekend event!

Featured events include:
•    The main tent will include dance music from alumnus DJ Shock, interact with your college Dean, and serve as the meeting point for class reunions 1964, 1969, 1974, 1979, 1984, 1989, 1994, 1999, 2004 and 2009.
•    The newly formed RU Highlander Bagpipers will kick off the village activities with a lively performance.
•    Lacrosse Alumni Game – Bring your chairs or sit on Moffett lawn to cheer on our alumni as they take to the field.
•    The Greek chariots races return for the special halftime program. Bring your coins and vote for your favorite Greek chariot design. All proceeds will be donated to the RU Greek Scholarship Fund.
•    Meeting spot for numerous alumni affinity groups: Greek Life organizations, Soccer, Criminal Justice, SGA, Communication Sciences and Disorders, Lacrosse and many more!
•    At 3:30 p.m. don't miss the all Greek Life alumni and student photo on the Moffett Lawn, followed by the RU Black Alumni Network leading popular line dances.
•    Parade of Tents – Who will have the best decorated tent and take home the 2014 Highlander Spirit Rock? Class and affinity groups can request a small tent, table and chairs to decorate and showcase their school spirit. The Highlander Spirit Rock will be presented at halftime to the winner. Q: When will I hear more about the Fall Alumni Homecoming?
A: You will receive monthly email communications that will highlight events throughout the weekend. You can also check www.radford.edu/alumni for the most current schedule of events.
Q: How can I register for the Fall Alumni Homecoming?
A: You can register by mail, phone or online.
Q: When should I arrive?
A: Fall Alumni Homecoming is a three day event, Friday - Sunday. You can arrive Friday afternoon to enjoy all the weekend festivities or on Saturday for specific events of interest.
Q: Who else will be there?
A: All alumni are encouraged to attend the weekend festivities. The classes of 1959, 1964, 1969, 1974, 1979, 1984, 1989, 1994, 1999, 2004 and 2009 will be celebrating reunions. Some activities will be special to reunion classes, while other events will be open for all to enjoy.
Q: What is my reunion class or affinity challenge?
A: Your reunion is a time to celebrate your memories. From freshman year to today, Radford has had an important impact on your life. By giving back, you will ensure that Radford will continue to provide the same experience to students for generations to come.

Area Lodging
Room blocks have been reserved at several area hotels. A list of hotels is available on the "Lodging" page of the weekend's website at www.radford.edu/alumni. Most room blocks will expire in September 2014, so please join our alumni Facebook page "Radford University Alumni Association" to get the special block codes. Please note the Class of 1964 host hotel is Comfort Inn (540) 639-3333. The host hotel for the Black Alumni Weekend is the LaQuinta in Radford, VA (540) 633-6800.
