Distance (or distributed) Education represents the numerous methodologies that instructors can use to reach students despite the barriers of time or space. At Radford University we use various technologies to help our instructors share their expertise and knowledge with students across the Commonwealth of Virginia and beyond in both online and hybrid teaching models.
The staff at the Center for Innovative Teaching and Learning is available to consult with instructors who are teaching online or hybrid courses, or that are interested to learn more about a specific tool or technique for use in their classes. We provide instructional design consultations, technical training, and access to different design and delivery models.
A resource page is available for faculty teaching online courses. Created as a collaboration between CITL, McConnell Library and IT Technology Support Services, it includes information and links for:
- D2L Assistance
- How-To's for common tasks such as using Adobe Connect and putting readings and videos online
- Text about support services to include in syllabi
