About the Office of Academic Assessment

The Office of Academic Assessment reports to the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs. The Office of Academic Assessment is responsible for coordinating the general education assessment, academic program assessment, academic support programs/services assessment, academic program review, course evaluation, and the Quality Enhancement Program assessment. In addition, the Office provides support for ensuring compliance with the Southern Association for Schools and Colleges Commission on Colleges' (SACSCOC) standards, as well as other specialized accrediting agencies.

Mission of Academic Assessment

The mission of the Office of Academic Assessment is to provide leadership support for strengthening a culture of evidence and improvement that serves as a catalyst for improving student learning and enhancing institutional effectiveness at Radford University.

To realize this mission, the Office of Academic Assessment is responsible for coordinating the general education assessment, academic program assessment, academic support services assessment, academic program review, course evaluation, and the Quality Enhancement Program assessment. In addition, the Office provides support for ensuring compliance with the Southern Association for Schools and Colleges Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) standards, as well as other specialized accrediting agencies.

The sole purpose of the Office of Academic Assessment is to ensure continuous improvement of all academic programs and support services thereby maintaining the integrity and quality of academic qualifications that students received from Radford University.
