Andrea Proctor

What made you decide to choose your major?

Originally I was a psychology major but switched to management because I want to work in the field of business. Achieving a management degree will allow me to pursue my passions of working in teams, managing teams, customer service, and problem solving.

What has been one of the most memorable experience you’ve had while attending Radford University?

One of my most memorable experiences here at Radford University was joining Alpha Kappa Psi (professional business fraternity) and holding the positions of Vice President of Pledge Education and Executive Vice President. I have learned so much from being a part of this organization and I plan on being a part of it for a very long time.

What advice would you give to others to help them succeed?

I would tell others to join as many organizations as possible. I have learned so much about business and leadership from being a member and leader of Alpha Kappa Psi, Sigma Iota Epsilon, COBE Ambassadors, and the RU Tennis club.

What are your career goals?

I want to become the head of a Human Resources Management Department in a fairly large company by the age of 30.

How has your undergraduate experience prepared you to achieve these goals?

My undergraduate experience has helped me prepare to achieve my goals by taking relevant classes towards HR management, and joining organizations that have taught me leadership, risk management, and leadership skills. Also, the professors in COBE and aids in career services have always been there to assist me in achieving my goals.
