What made you decide to choose your major?
I started at Radford as an athletic training major, later I switched to environmental biology and I knew that definitely wasn’t for me. Finally, I landed on management and added marketing my junior year. I chose business because I knew it would be very versatile in the working world and I am very organized. I am very happy with my decision to major in both marketing and management. The professors have taught be so much in order to prepare for the real world.
What has been one of the most memorable experience you’ve had while attending Radford University?
I am on the women’s golf team, my most memorable experience comes from our second tournament freshmen year. The final day of the tournament the entire team played extremely well. I was fortunate enough to lead them with a round under par. We shattered the program’s 18-hole record. I remember thinking how awesome it was to have the opportunity to play golf at the Division I level and get an education at the same time.
What advice would you give to others to help them succeed?
Work really hard. My parents taught me that hard work would take me anywhere I wanted to go in life and so far they are right. If you want something bad enough then work hard and try to reach that goal. Sometimes you are going to fail but learn from the mistake and keep working hard to achieve the goal.
How has your undergraduate experience prepared you to achieve these goals?
The professors in COBE are phenomenal. They have prepared me in the classroom for issues I will face in my career. However, I think it is the relationships formed and lessons learned inside and outside of the classroom that are the most important part of undergraduate experiences.
