Don Langrehr is a Professor of Literacy Education.  He teaches both undergraduate and graduate education courses in multiple programs including Elementary Education, Secondary Social Studies, and  Health and Human Performance.  Dr. Langrehr holds a M.A. degree in Reading and Language Arts from New Jersey City University and a Ph.D. degree in Reading Education from Florida State University.  He has extensive experience as a literacy instructor and teacher educator.  As an Elementary Education cohort supervisor in the Radford City Public Schools, Dr. Langrehr is active in the development of professional development partnerships with McHarg and Belle Heth Elementary Schools.  His research interests include:

•    the role of inference formation in reading comprehension,

•    the effects of advertising on information processing and critical thinking abilities,

•    the role of media literacy curricula in teacher education programs,

•    the use of closed-caption television as an elementary and secondary reading curriculum.
