Test Preparation

The Teaching Resources Center does not offer tutoring for required tests but does have books and CD-ROMs on various subjects to help patrons prepare, including:

Virginia Reading Assessment (VRA)
Virginia Communication and Literacy Assessment (VCLA)
Praxis I & II
School Leaders Licensure Assessment
Graduate Record Examination (GRE)
Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT)
Miller Analogies Test (MAT)
Test Of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)

The TRC has study materials for the following Praxis II tests:

Audiology
Earth and Space Sciences
Elementary Education content areas
High School Math
Middle School content areas
Physical Education and Health
Social Studies content knowledge

DIE CUT MACHINE

The EIL is equipped with a die-cut machine that is available to all students and faculty. To use the machine you must:

Provide your own paper (card stock, construction, regular)
Check on room availability at TRC circulation desk

Computer Lab

The computer lab in the TRC has fifteen workstations that are connected to the University’s network with full internet access. The current software used by the University and additional special software used in the College of Education and Human Development classes. The lab contains 2 flatbed digital scanners that are available for graphic scanning as well as a black and white and color laser printer. The lab is open to all students, faculty and public patrons.

C144 Computer Lab

The computer lab in Peters C144 has twenty-seven workstations that are connected to the University’s network with full internet access. The current software used by the University and additional special software used in the College of Education and Human Development classes. The lab contains 5 flatbed digital scanners that are available for graphic scanning as well as a black and white laser printer. The lab is used for Radford University classes and special reservations. When the lab is not reserved for a class or an event, it is open to students.

Equipment Check-Out

For information regarding equipment check-out, look under Collections.

Give-away

Periodically, the TRC has "Give-Aways" of teaching materials that have been withdrawn from the collections. Announcements will be made when a "Give-Away" is scheduled. The materials are first made available to pre-service and in-service teachers. The event will then be opened up to public patrons and home-schoolers. Restrictions may be placed on the amount of materials each person may take.
