Attendee Information

Planning your Weekend

On the day of commencement, in addition to the website, an Information and Guest Assistance Center will be located on Moffett Lawn. Radford University staff will be available to offer assistance, provide directions, distribute commencement programs and assist with disability / accessibility accommodations.

Please review the Commencement Weekend Schedule of Events to plan your weekend activities.  In doing so, remember that while start-times are firm, it is difficult to anticipate when events will end. It is a good idea to remain as flexible as possible and leave a sufficient time buffer in scheduling post-graduation festivities.

For your convenience

Restrooms will be available in the residence halls and academic buildings in the area of the main ceremony and college ceremonies.

Beginning at 7:30 a.m., there are beverage and snack carts in the vicinity of the main ceremony. Starbucks will be open in the Hurlburt Center from 7:30 a.m. until the conclusion of the events.

The Radford University Bookstore, located in Dalton Hall, will be open from 7:30 a.m. until 4 p.m.

The main ceremony will be streamed live on the Radford University website. On the day of the ceremony, visit www.radford.edu to find a link to the live stream. Additionally, the main ceremony will be broadcast on WVRU, 89.9 FM.

A professional photographer will photograph each graduate as they cross the stage at the individual college ceremonies and the hooding ceremony.  Proofs and order forms will be mailed to each graduate after the event.

Inclement Weather

We are all keeping our fingers crossed that commencement day will be a spectacular day with beautiful blue skies and temperatures in the mid-70s;  however, even if the weather does not cooperate with our plans, we want to be sure that your day is still spectacular!

In the event of inclement weather, an alternate schedule will be implemented for the May 11 commencement ceremonies.
