Recent grad publishes wildlife history paper
Recent biology graduate, Jordan Kime (now Jordan Thompson) was the lead author on a recently published wildlife history manuscript. Kime's manuscript, co-authored by associate professor Karen Powers, is entitled "A Brief History of Terrestrial Game Species Management in Virginia: 1900 – Present." Originally a semester project in Kime's BIOL 460 (senior seminar) course, Kime and Francl continued to develop the manuscript after the class was completed. The manuscript details the century-long history of game (hunted) species management in the Commonwealth, discussing major steps towards sound management and conservation of our valuable animal resources. The article appears in the current issue of Banisteria, "A journal devoted to the natural history of Virginia."
