The Department of Physics and the Radford University Planetarium are sponsors of the traveling NASA exhibit "Here. There. Everywhere." throughout the month of November. This exhibit is a collection of exhibitions, posters and hands-on activities that teaches the basics of physics using everyday examples. The exhibit will be located in the first floor hallways of Reed & Curie Halls from November 7 through November 29. After being at RU, the exhibit will go to the International Falls Public Library (Minnesota).
The exhibit is a self-guided tour. However, Radford University physics students will be available "to assist with some of the hands-on experiences," Physics Professor Rhett Herman said. The major part of the exhibit will include 11 large 7-feet-tall posters that visitors can walk through and explore, Herman said.
A number of nearby--and some not-so-nearby--schools have scheduled field trips with the specific goal of experiencing this exhibit. In addtion, two long-scheduled visiting Science Day groups will have as part of their regular Science Day rotation time slots for touring the exhibit and experiencing the hands-on acitivites.
