The Department of Dance holds auditions for all dance majors throughout the academic year.  At this time faculty, guest artists and student choreographers choose dancers for works created throughout the semester.  All majors are strongly encouraged to attend auditions either as participants or observers.  If selected for dances, they must fully participate as a cast member.

Each fall semester the department produces:

  • Fall Dance Fest
  • The Nutcracker (every other year: 2012, 2014, 2016, etc…)
  • An Evening of Ballet (every other year: 2011, 2013, 2015, etc…)
  • Informance
  • Honors Capstone Projects

Each spring semester the department produces/participates in:

  • Dancing on the Edge
  • Paradigm Shift: an Evening of Women’s Work
  • d a n a h b e l l a DanceWorks annual concert
  • Student Choreography ShowcaseHonors Capstone Projects
  • American College Dance Festival

d a n a h b e l l a DanceWorks (dbDW), the contemporary dance company-in-residence at Radford University, holds annual auditions for company members.  Radford University dance majors may audition for apprentice positions with the company.  Selected dance majors receive credit for working with dbDW during the semester with instructor approval.  For more information, visit  www.danahbelladanceworks.org.
