Department of Theatre and Cinema Auditions Announced

The fall semester lineup of RU Theatre’s 2013-14 season kicks off in late September with two student-directed shows running in repertory. The next offering is A. R. Gurney’s The Dining Room for mid-October then the semester ends with the annual theatre for young audiences production in November. This year this will feature an adaptation of The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe.

Auditions for all these productions will be held the first week of the fall semester. The schedule for these auditions is below:

The Trestle at Pope Lick Creek by Naomi Wallace, directed by James Bristow and The Baltimore Waltz by Paula Vogel, directed by George Hairston will both audition Sunday, Aug. 25 at 6:00 p.m. and Monday, Aug. 26 at 6:30 in the Hawes Studio Theatre, Porterfield Hall.

The Dining Room by A. R. Gurney and directed by Tommy lafrate will audition Tuesday, Aug. 27 and Wednesday, Aug. 28 at 6:00 p.m. in Pridemore Playhouse, Porterfield Hall.

The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe adapted from the novel by C.S. Lewis and directed by Wesley Young will audition on Thursday, Aug. 29 at 6:00 p.m.

These auditions are open to all RU students—meaning you do not have to be a theatre major to audition and be cast. So, come on along!
