Art Professor Continues Winning Streak

Professor of Art Z.L. Feng has recently added to his long list of national and international awards for his watercolors. He has also served as a juror for an annual show held in California.

Feng took the top prize – the North East Watercolor Society Award for Excellence – at the 2013 North East Watercolor Society 37th Annual International Exhibition at The Gallery at Kent Art Association in Kent, Conn. for his new watercolor portrait “Carlton #2."

Previous award winner James McFarlane juried the exhibition and award selection. He is a well-know teacher, artist, juror and speaker whose paintings have won awards in many local, regional, national and international art shows. He is the current president of the American Watercolor Society.

Feng's watercolor portrait "Red Brush" received the Hella Ballin Honorary Memorial Award for Impressionistic Landscape or Figurative Watercolor at 2013 Audubon Artists 71st Annual National Exhibition. This was held at the Salmagundi Club in New York City. 

His watercolor landscape "River Tree" won the Best in Show Award for watercolor, print and drawing at the 2013 An Occasion for the Arts in Williamsburg, VA.

Feng also recently served as juror of selection and award for the Buenaventura Art Association/California Gold Coast Watercolor Society. This was for the Fifth Annual Watercolor and AquaMedia Open Competition at Harbor Village Gallery in Ventur, Calif.
