Design Students Visit Atlanta Apparel Mart
Department of Design students who went on the Atlanta trip
Dr. Farrell Doss, Dr. John Jacob and Dr. Tammy Robinson took 15 students from the Department of Design to Atlanta for the Spring 2015 Apparel Market Week Oct. 17-19. Students had the opportunity to tour the Atlanta Apparel Mart, visit showrooms, and see a professional runway show showcasing some of the new brands and items offered during the market week.
The Atlanta Apparel Mart is also called AmericasMart and is a trade mart/trade show facility. Several times a year they hold market weeks for apparel, home furnishings, gifts, or rugs. It is a wholesale marketplace where various companies/brands have showrooms and retail buyers visit to see the latest product offerings and purchase merchandise for their stores.
Students also explored the diverse retail venues available in the Atlanta area.
