RU Honor’s Guitar Quartet featured in conference showcase

On Nov. 16, 2014, the RU Honor’s Guitar Quartet performed on the ensemble showcase of the Guitar Foundation of America’s Symposium at UNC – School for the Arts in Winston-Salem. Prior to the event, they were selected by a panel of judges to perform on the showcase.

The RU Honor’s Guitar Quartet is comprised of Anthony Carty (sophomore – B.S. performance emphasis), Daniel Burton (sophomore –B.S. Performance emphasis), Max Hiner (junior – B.S. Performance emphasis) and Grant Lawton (junior-B.S. Performance emphasis). Robert Trent, professor of music, is their faculty director.

The performances were broadly hailed as “fantastic” and “incredible.”

In addition, Hiner was selected by judges to perform on the Solo Guitarist Showcase. He is also a native of Radford city.
