Martin Jones with Bruce Mahin

British pianist Martin Jones performs Bruce Mahin’s "Préludes de Paris," 12 pieces for solo piano drawing from both classical and jazz traditions, in a just released CD on PnOVA Recordings.

Jones has been one of Britain's most highly regarded solo pianists since first coming to international attention in 1968 when he received the Myra Hess Award, the same year he made his London debut at the Queen Elizabeth Hall and his New York debut at Carnegie Hall. Ever since Jones has been in demand for recitals and concerto performances worldwide.

In this first volume of the American Composers Series on PnOVA, Mahin, RU professor of Music, explores rhythmically syncopated quartal harmonies featuring a style that is both accessible and emotionally deep. The music explores new harmonic frontiers, emphasizing colorful chords locked in bright, buoyant melodies.

CD’s individually signed and numbered by Jones and Mahin are now available at CDbaby.com and Amazon.com. Digital downloads are available through all major distribution outlets including iTunes, Amazon, and Spotify. Other releases include "Shadows," "Time Chants," and "Mood Shifts" on the Capstone label.  Mahin is a professor of Music at Radford University. He received degrees in music composition at Northwestern University and the Peabody Conservatory.
