Director's Bio



Brooke Chang, J.D. was appointed to the position of Director of Diversity and Equity, Title IX Coordinator, and ADA/Section 504 Compliance Officer in May 2012. As director, she forwards Radford University's continuing commitment to equal opportunity in its employment and educational practices.  In her role, she leads, supports and advances the University's commitment to diversity and equity by providing education, training, guidance and leadership to administrators, faculty, and staff to ensure a campus community free from sexual violence, domestic violence, dating violence, sexual exploitation, stalking, sexual harassment, and discrimination for our students, faculty, and staff.  The Office of Diversity and Equity is committed to advancing equal access in all opportunities, programs, services, and facilities of the University in strict accordance with applicable federal laws, state laws, and University policies.

Prior to her appointment, Ms. Chang served as Associate Counsel in the Office of University Counsel, East Tennessee State University.  In her capacity as Associate Counsel, she worked integrally on diversity, equity, equal access, discrimination, sexual violence and harassment matters involving faculty, staff, and students with the Office of Equity and Diversity, Division of Students Affairs, Department of Human Resources, Department of Athletics, other departments and administrative offices, administrators, deans, department chairs, faculty, and staff at East Tennessee State University.  Ms. Chang also brings over 15 years of legal practice experience as a trial attorney in areas of civil rights, discrimination, sexual harassment, hostile environment, and disability cases for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Transportation Securities Administration, U.S. Department of the Interior, and in her own law firm.
