Director's Bio


Brooke Chang was appointed to the position of Director of the Office of Diversity and Equity and Title IX Coordinator in May 2012. As director, she forwards Radford University's continuing commitment to equal opportunity in its employment and educational practices. The role of the Office of Diversity and Equity is to support and advance the University's commitment to diversity and equity by providing education, guidance and leadership to administrators, faculty, and staff in their efforts to recruit and retain a diverse workforce and student body, and to ensure a campus community free from discrimination and harassment for our students, faculty, and staff.  This office is committed to advancing equal access in all opportunities, programs, services, and facilities of the University in strict accordance with applicable federal laws, state laws, and University policies.

Prior to her appointment, Ms. Chang served as Associate Counsel for East Tennessee State University.  In her capacity as Associate Counsel, she worked integrally on diversity, equity, equal access, discrimination, sexual harassment, sexual violence matters involving faculty, staff, and students with the Office of Equity and Diversity, Office of Students Affairs, Office of Human Resources, Department of Athletics, and other departments and administrative offices at East Tennessee State University.

Ms. Chang brings legal practice experience as a trial attorney in discrimination, sexual harassment, and hostile work environment cases for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Transportation Securities Administration, and U.S. Department of the Interior.
