Applying for Financial Aid

Application Information

Radford University uses the results of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) as the primary document to determine aid eligibility.  Students may file the FAFSA after January 1st each year.  We encourage each of you to complete the FAFSA prior to returning to school for the spring semester, but no later than Radford’s priority deadline of February 15th

Please note that the Department of Education FAFSA form does not request you to make a payment in order for it to be processed.  If you are asked to pay an application fee you are not completing the FAFSA.

Summer Financial Aid Application

If you are attending summer school and are interested in financial aid to help pay your expenses you are required to complete the Summer School Application.  The application is available at the start of the spring semester on your MyRU portal on the My Accounts tab.  You are encouraged to complete the summer application by the March 1st priority deadline once you have completed your summer school registration.  We will review the application and contact you regarding your eligibility and financial aid options.

Refresher Information

For the most part, the application process remains the same from year to year.  Below we have provided the basic application information for you to review and use as you prepare for the next academic year.
