WHAT: Radford's annual Quiz Bowl Tournament sponsored by the RU Honors Academy. You can read more about the rules here.

WHEN: Saturday, November 3rd

Preliminary rounds: 9:00am-12noon
Lunch: 12:00-1:00pm
Final round: 1:00-2:00pm

WHERE: Heth 043

WHO: Any Radford undergraduate student

WHY: It's a blast (fun, exciting, competitive)!!! And, yes, there is prize money:

1st place team: $300
2nd place team: $200
3rd place team: $100

HOW TO SIGN-UP: You can sign-up as an individual, partial team (2-3 players), or full team (4-5 players). Single players and partial teams will be combined, when possible, to create complete teams. Due to the high demand last year, we can only include the first 12 complete teams in the tournament. After 12 teams have registered we will start a wait-list. Get your team together as soon as possible to have the best chance to obtain a team slot! Registration will remain open until the tournament is full or not later than October 31st.

What Is Quiz Bowl?

Quiz Bowl is Radford's on-campus academic tournament for undergraduates. Although the tournament is sponsored by the Honors Academy, it is open to all undergraduates! It's basically like a team version of the television show Jeopardy. We follow the rules of the National Association of Quiz Tournaments, although our on-campus tournament is unofficial. Two 4-person teams participate in each game. The teams use a lock-out buzzer system to answer 'toss-up' questions on topics from science to music to literature to pop-culture. Correct answers give the opportunity for exclusive 'bonus' questions. The teams with the best records (or highest scores) move from the preliminary rounds into the finals. It's exciting, competitive, and lots of fun!
