Follow these tips to help stay safe both on campus and off:

• Use common sense: don’t leave a purse or backpack lying around unattended
• Don’t leave valuables exposed in your car for others to see
• Lock your bicycle
• Avoid walking alone at night. Use the buddy system or call for an
  escort from the RUPD at 831-5500
• Don’t compromise building security — when you swipe yourself
  into your residence hall, don’t let others follow you without swiping unless you know them
• Avoid going to an ATM alone
• Sign up for the RU Alert system
