Get Excited About Quest!

We offer five orientation programs: three summer events--two for new freshmen and one for transfer students--, one fall and one spring event. Our orientation programs begin the supportive process with a comprehensive overview of university culture, resources and services.

The main orientation objectives are to academically advise and register new students for the upcoming semester. Faculty advisors and student leaders who serve as Quest Assistants offer new students guidance and reassurance during the time that they are here.

January Quest takes place a few days before classes begin in January.  This program is for freshmen and transfer students starting school in the spring semester.

Quest, our two-day program for new freshmen and their parents, begins with check-in between 8:30 AM and 10:15 AM on the first day, and will conclude around noon the second day.

Quest Express, our newest program for new freshmen and their parents, is an abbreviated version of Quest that will take place between 8:00 AM and 3:00 PM.

Transfer Quest is also a one day-long program taking place between 8:00 AM and 3:00 PM.  It is exclusively for students transferring from another two- or four-year institution.

Fall Quest for freshmen and transfer students will take place just prior to the start of the fall semester. Dates and times are to be determined. We strongly encourage attendance at the June/July sessions. Registration for Fall Quest will begin mid-July.

Mission Statement

The mission of Radford University’s orientation programs is to facilitate the successful academic and personal transition of new students and their families into the Radford community. Through the intentional interaction of new students, families, current students, faculty and staff, combined with specific programmatic elements, participants will develop an understanding and appreciation of the academic, developmental and social opportunities available, as well as knowledge of campus and community resources.
