Computer Purchases

Questions

Answers

Are computers required?

No, Radford University does not require students to have computers.  There are computer labs in Walker Hall, Young Hall, and the McConnell Library for all students to use.

I'm thinking of buying a computer.  What should I get?

The Division of Information Technology maintains a webpage that lists the minimum requirements to consider when purchasing a computer.

Does the University sell computers?

Apple, Lenovo and Acer computers are sold through the on-campus Bookstore, and both are priced with educational discounts.

There are two distinct advantages to purchasing a computer through our Bookstore.  The first is convenience.  While you are here during Quest you can take home your new computer.  The second is that the Lenovo and Apple models are fully supported by our IT Help Desk.
