Campus Involvement: Risk Management and Bylaws Chair of the Radford University Omicron Sigma Chapter of Alpha Kappa Psi, Member of the College of Business and Economics Dean’s Student Advisory Council, and student Office of Admissions tour guide
McKinzey Sayers has high expectations for his future – to obtain a marketing position within a Fortune 500 company. Following high school graduation, he knew exactly where he could start working toward that goal: Radford University.
With three family members calling Radford their alma mater, Sayers was very familiar with the campus and how it prepped his family members for their careers. By continuing the family legacy, Sayers saw the opportunity to flourish.
“I saw how successful my family had become after graduation and I wanted to do the same,” he said. “Radford’s gorgeous, medium-sized campus and the small class sizes were definite pluses. I also saw the potential to get really involved on campus.”
Understanding the value of campus involvement, Sayers did exactly that. Not only is he involved in campus organizations such as the COBE dean’s student advisory council, he is also a familiar face in the Admissions office, giving campus tours to prospective students and their families.
“There are so many opportunities for involvement here, and not only did it help me meet people, but also it helped broaden my horizons both in and out of the classroom,” he said.
After obtaining his bachelor’s degree, Sayers hopes to further his education in graduate school, with Radford University being his first choice.
“Coming to Radford University was the best decision I have ever made!” he said. “I have enjoyed meeting new people who have become my best friends. I love being able to interact with my professors one-on-one and build a relationship with them. I cannot wait to see what the future holds for me!”
