You’ve read stories like this before. The one where a high school student arrives at Radford University for a college visit, absorbs the beauty of campus, is greeted by friendly and helpful staff and finds mentors among the world-class faculty. Michaela Baker’s story has all the ingredients of those familiar Highlander journeys but with her own fresh twist on the narrative.

Before leaving campus for the summer, the Radford University esports Valorant team hit pause for a moment on Friday, April 28, to pose for photographs with a special guest to their arena: President Bret Danilowicz.

Rachel Warren always knew she wanted a healthcare career. Four years ago, she chose the Respiratory Therapy program at RUC because she liked the idea of being an expert on one system in the body. Today, she says that decision was one of the best she's ever made and she can't wait to start the job she has lined up at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital this summer. 

In a special meeting held on April 28, the Radford University Board of Visitors discussed and voted on the tuition and fees for the 2023–2024 academic year. The Board of Visitors’ primary goal is to maintain the highest standard of education for Radford University students while minimizing the financial burdens on students and addressing increased inflationary pressures.

Radford University Carilion senior nursing student Rory Croke wants to change the system as a whole, combining mental and physical health treatments to help people heal holistically.

In the midafternoon on Wednesday, April 19, 2023, during Earth Week, the Radford University Green Team took a small step toward improving the Earth and the lives of its inhabitants by planting a Buckeye, a willow and a River Branch tree between the New River and Dedmon Center.

During her four years at Radford University, Justine McLaughlin has made many connections on campus with fellow students, faculty, staff and the occasional salamander. 

After four years of working onstage and behind the curtain, theatre major Meagan Cox’s aim remains as straightforward as it is noble: "My main goal with theatre is to touch audiences, to make them feel something. I like to leave them having a better day.”

U.S. News & World Report released its 2023-24 Best Graduate School Programs rankings on April 25, listing four Radford University programs among the best in the country.

Tartan Tails is Radford University's animal therapy program, which supports the well-being of the university community. Four-legged "students" first complete professional training, then are celebrated as the newest members of the program.

The event began as a single day in 2018 but has rapidly expanded to cover six days and celebrate freshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniors, as well as students at Radford University Carilion in Roanoke.
