Lecture to Focus on Insect Evidence in Death Investigations
Entomologist Joe Keiper, executive director of the Virginia Museum of Natural History, will speak at Radford University on Tuesday, Dec. 4, about how knowledge of specific insects can help law enforcement with death investigations.
The free public presentation, titled "Research in Forensic Entomology: Evaluating How Burning and Burials Affect Insect Evidence," will be at 7 p.m. in the auditorium of the Hurlburt Student Center on campus.
In the lecture, Keiper will share "results of recent research conducted in southern Virginia that has added to the scope of forensic entomologists’ contributions," he said. His talk is part of the RU Museum of the Earth Sciences lecture series.
