Tony Lee, director of annual giving at Radford University, has been elected to an at-large position on the board of directors for the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE), District III. Lee was presented for approval by the membership in Atlanta during the CASE III 2013 conference on Feb. 20.

"When you are passionate about your career, you are always serving and no longer working. Serving the university as employee or volunteer is a part of who I am," said Lee, who joined RU's Division of Advancement in 2012 and also works with the Radford Athletic Club. "I am so grateful to represent Radford University as an at-large member of CASE District III, where I can share my passion for higher education with other colleagues across the Southeast."

Lee oversees the Radford Fund, RU's annual fund-raising initiative to support the university's current and most pressing needs such as financial support for students, advanced technology and facilities.

In addition to Lee's election, Radford University received a Special Merit Award for Advancement's Class Reunion Gift Challenge promotion. The program successfully encouraged alumni to contribute to RU with a friendly competition among reunion classes. Event organizers included Lee and Melissa D. Vidmar, former associate director of communications for the Office of Alumni Relations and the advancement division.

District III is the second-largest CASE area, with more than 3,500 advancement professionals at educational institutions across the Southeast.
