Director of the School of Nursing Tony Ramsey

Tony Ramsey, director of the School of Nursing in Radford University's Waldron College of Health and Human Services, will be a Fellow at the Leadership for Academic Nursing Program in Colorado Springs July 27- Aug. 1.

Fellows are selected to participate in the program, sponsored by the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN,) through a competitive application process and they will engage in professional development activities designed to prepare candidates for nursing program leadership.

"I hope to bring back new knowledge about myself and skills to lead our department in the most effective manner possible,'" said Ramsey.  "I am excited because the program is specific to nursing leadership. I will undergo a 360-degree evaluation and establish a relationship with a seasoned nursing education mentor for one year to assist me as I embrace my role as director."

The AACN is a national baccalaureate and graduate nursing education organization with more than 725 member schools of nursing at public and private universities and senior colleges nationwide. AACN establishes quality standards for nursing education; assists deans and directors to implement those standards; influences the nursing profession to improve health care; and promotes public support for professional nursing education, research, and practice.
