RU professor Z.L. Feng is an internationally acclaimed watercolor artist.

Z.L. Feng, Radford University's own expert watercolorist, has received new international attention with an artist profile and works displayed in a selection of French art periodicals.

The latest issue of Pratique des Arts features eight pieces of Feng's work and discusses his background and career for the French watercolor audience. Additionally, his work was published in a 2014 calendar of international artists produced by magazine l'Art de l'Aquarelle.

Closer to home, Feng will once again publish work in the February 2014 edition of Watercolor Artist magazine.

Feng has served as a professor of art at RU since 1989. A native of Shanghai, China, Feng, who arrived in the United States in 1986, has been a prolific artist, as his watercolor paintings—portraits, landscapes and illustrations—have been included in juried exhibitions throughout the world, receiving more than 300 awards and top honors.

"With watercolor you cannot cover your mistakes," said the international award-winning artist. "So you must know what you are doing."

Feng's artwork can also be found in numerous private and corporate collections across the nation, including the Walt Disney Company, the Gulfstream Aerospace Corp. (USA), the Orlando International Airport, the Springfield Art Museum in Springfield, Mo., and in the permanent art collection of the Radford University Art Museum.
