RU research team emerges enlightened from the jungle

Beneath the Athenian trees, Plato hosted the original academy. Beneath the Amazonian trees of the Peruvian jungle, 13 undergraduate student researchers from Radford University convened the Radford Amazon Research Expedition (RARE), an intensive three-week Maymester academic adventure.

Led by Associate Professor of Biology Jason Davis and Assistant Professor of Biology Joy Caughron, RARE provided a unique opportunity to conduct original research in a primary Amazonian rainforest ecosystem.

"They were a once-in-a-lifetime team," said Davis. "They worked together as scientists and as friends."

This just-published official video introduces the team and its diverse range of research activities.
