Radford University hires Deputy Title IX Coordinator

Radford University has hired Geoffrey P. Gabriel to serve as Deputy Title IX coordinator in the Office of Diversity and Equity.

Gabriel will work on Title IX investigations involving students, faculty and staff and coordinate online mandatory Title IX training for faculty, staff and student employees. He will be involved in planning diversity awareness programming and education for the RU campus. He also will be involved in conducting future diversity training sessions, and advising on student, faculty and staff recruitment and retention efforts. Gabriel began his new position at Radford University on July 13.

Before joining Radford University, Gabriel worked in the Office of Diversity and Inclusion at the University of Albany in New York. There, he created effective and compliant affirmative action programs. Gabriel also chaired a steering committee on sexual harassment which was charged with establishing the components and curricula of an effective awareness and prevention program. He also conducted investigations on allegations of discrimination, sexual harassment and sexual assault, and participated in hearings with the Office of Civil Rights and the New York State Division of Human Rights.

Gabriel holds a Master of Science degree in education and a bachelor's degree in history from State University of New York at Geneseo.
