Radford University celebrates commencement

Radford University graduate participants

Radford University's spring commencement activities are scheduled for May 8-9.

The Graduate Hooding and Commencement Ceremony will begin at 5 p.m. on May 8 in the Dedmon Center.

Saturday, May 9, marks the main commencement ceremony, scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m. on Moffett Lawn. The keynote speaker is Radford University graduate and ESPN commentator Marty Smith '98. Individual college ceremonies will take place 30 minutes after the main ceremony.

Free Radford Transit services will be available Saturday, with stops planned at area hotels and various parking lots on campus. A live stream of the main commencement ceremony will be available on the Radford University homepage, www.radford.edu.

In the event of an inevitable inclement weather forecast for May 9, a decision to implement the inclement weather plan will be made by 6 p.m. on May 8. If the weather is questionable, a decision will be made by 6 a.m. on May 9. Updates will be displayed on Radford University's website as well as its Facebook and Twitter pages.
