Radford University has been recognized by U.S. News & World Report as a best public university on their 2016 "Best Regional Universities" list, making it the fourth consecutive year the University has been so recognized.

Radford University is ranked 37th on the "South" region list, comprised of both public and private universities, and is ranked 15th of public universities on the list.

"There is no doubt that Radford University is recognized as one of the top public universities in our region and U.S. News & World Report’s continued acknowledgement of our school reflects that achievement," said Radford University President Penelope W. Kyle. "Radford University’s hallmark is the close interaction between our faculty and our students, while simultaneously offering a high quality education that remains affordable to many students and their families."

In another regional appraisal by the magazine, Radford University was ranked 31st in the 2016 "Best Colleges for Veterans – South." Radford University is sixth among Virginia universities on that listing.

"This is an additional acknowledgement of the unquestionable commitment we have to our students, especially our student-veterans. This unique population faces many challenges in the pursuit of education, and they deserve a school that gives as much back to them as they have given for us," said President Kyle.

Radford University has appeared on the "Best Regional Universities - South" list since 2013. The list was formerly called the "Top Public Master’s Universities in the South" ranking and Radford University appeared on it every year from 2006-2012. This is the first year the university was recognized for its distinction in serving veterans.
