President Hemphill talks with WSLS's Bethany Teague

Dr. Brian O. Hemphill, Radford University's seventh president, sat down with Bethany Teague of WSLS (Channel 10) for a conversation Tuesday during which he touched on a variety of topics. Visit the WSLS website for the interview.

President Hemphill assumed the presidency of Radford University on July 1. Hemphill was previously the president of West Virginia State University in Institute, West Virginia. Prior to assuming the presidency at WVSU, Hemphill held senior student affairs leadership positions at several institutions, most recently Northern Illinois University, where he served as Vice President for Student Affairs and Enrollment Management.

Hemphill earned a Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration and Policy Studies from the University of Iowa, a Master of Science degree in Journalism and Mass Communication from Iowa State University of Science and Technology and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Organizational Communication from Saint Augustine’s University.
