Resident Assistant (RA) Position

Resident Assistants are students committed to helping residents enjoy all aspects of campus life. The RA serves as the liaison between the students and administrators, reports maintenance requests, informs residents of upcoming events, and also lends an ear when needed. The RA provides the opportunity for residents to get acquainted through planned activities, educational programs, and being knowledgeable of various services offered on campus. 

The resident assistant application process for 2016-2017 is wrapping up. Resident Assistant selection information is typically available late in the fall semester. 

Resident Director (RD) Position

The Resident Director (RD) is responsible for the comprehensive management of 1-2 residence halls, housing approximately 230-350 residents and supervises between 6-9 Resident Assistants. The Resident Director serves as an active and visible residence hall staff member that is responsible for developing an atmosphere that promotes academic achievement, inclusiveness, personal development and a strong sense of community.

Primary duties and responsibilities include: administration and supervision, support for student development and learning, crisis management, student conduct administration, programming, physical facility management, university and departmental committee assignments and a summer collateral assignment. The Resident Director position is a full-time, twelve-month live-in position which is supervised by an Area Director. 

Beginning with the Fall 2016 semester, the Resident Director position will be transitioning from a graduate student position to a full-time professional position.
