The department of student activities offers a wide variety of employment opportunities for students. In addition to providing a source of income, these positions further the mission of the department by encouraging out-of-the-classroom learning while exposing students to a taste of post-graduate professional life.
Our student employees are vital to the daily operation of our department. Without competent people in these positions, we would not be able to offer all our great programs and services to the campus community.

Lead and direct safe aerobics classes for students.
Bondurant Stage Technician
Load in, run, and strike sound and lights for events and performances in Bondurant Auditorium. Assist with set-up for concerts in the Dedmon Center.
Climbing Wall Manager
Oversee operation of bouldering wall. Develop work schedules for student volunteers, monitor safety concerns, provide a safe environment for bouldering (routes, holds, etc.) and perform other duties as assigned.
Game Room Attendants
Help with the overall running of the Bonnie Student Game Room. Monitor both the bowling area and the billiards area. Collect money from customers and make nightly deposits.
Hurlburt Media Technician
The Media Technician operates video projection equipment, performs microphone set-ups and small event and/or concert set-ups in the Bonnie Hurlburt Student Center during programs, meetings, and events. The Media Technician is responsible for showing weekly movies in the Bonnie Auditorium. Applicants must be flexible, trustworthy, responsible, cooperative, and ready to take initiative.
Information Office Assistants
Provide customer service and issue information to student center patrons and answer questions by phone about activities, events, meetings, and general information requests. Sell tickets to on-campus concerts and events. Reconcile daily ticket sales and cash deposits. Provide assistance and support to the Event Planning and Scheduling Manager.
Intramural Sports Official
Administer the rules of games and events and ensure the safety of all participants invovled in the activity.
Intramural Sports Scorekeeper
Keep score for all Intramural games and register all participants prior to the start of contests, including checking RU IDs.
Intramural Sports Supervisor
Oversee the onsite operation of all Intramural Sports activities, including the supervision of all teams, officials, and scorekeepers. Prevent and treat minor injuries. Manage sports equipment and playing sites.
By working with clubs/organizations and student leaders on campus, Leadership Consultants are stationed in Student Organization Assistance and Resources (SOAR) in Hulburt Room 235. They help with the overall functioning of SOAR, provide customer services and fulfill general leadership information request for SOAR patrons, and complete various special projects to ensure smooth SOAR operations.
Office Manager Assistants
Support director's suite office manager in administrative tasks, including answering phones, transferring calls, delivering messages, approving postings, sorting mail, providing directions, and answering general questions.
Ensure smooth-running daily operations of Hurlburt Student Center. Help facilitate special events. Perform room set-ups and break-downs. Monitor building for safety, security, and maintenance needs. Respond to requests for minor technical assistance to patrons using in-house sound and computer equipment. Act as stage security for concerts in the Dedmon Center.
Student Accounts Assistants
Assist Accounts Managers with processing invoices, purchasing requests, and maintaining accounting records.
RU Outdoors Rental Office Manager
Supervise volunteer staff, maintain rental contracts, collect rental and late fees, repair gear, and perform other duties as assigned.
