GIFTS THAT ENSURE EXCELLENCE
When Radford University launched its doctoral program in physical therapy, Medical Facilities of America stepped forward with a gift of $500,000 to fund the university’s first endowed chair. “This is a transformational gift for RU,” President Penelope W. Kyle said at the time. “It allows us to recognize and support the most fundamental part of our organization: our faculty.”
Such generosity provides salary supplements as well as support for research and programming, critical factors in recruiting and retaining exceptional faculty members. Those scholars, in turn, bolster a university’s reputation for academic excellence and its ability to attract private support for research.
By endowing a faculty position, you can help Radford University raise the bar for academic excellence and position itself among the best colleges and universities in the nation.
As the value of a Radford University degree has increased over the years, so has its cost. Scholarships are vital in attracting the most promising students and empowering the university to maintain socioeconomic diversity.
Radford University is grateful for the generous scholarship support given by alumni, family and friends, and students are quick to acknowledge the role that financial support plays in their futures.
Lauren Miller '12, communications major from Roanoke, Va., holds the Frances Hilt Graham Trent and Glover M. Trent Scholarship. She writes, "I cannot even begin to express my heartfelt gratitude for your generous gift.
