About Us

     The Virginia Rail Policy Institute (VRPI) is a 501(c) 3, Not-For-Profit organization. VRPI’s primary goal is to  advance rail policy in the Commonwealth of Virginia by using objective and rigorous research and publication to  enhance understanding of inter-city freight and passenger rail opportunities. VRPI believes inter-city rail is a realistic,  cost-effective, and essential element of a modern multimodal transportation system.
