Paying Tuition and Fees

The following information provides details in regards to billing, payment options and deadlines, the matriculation fee, meal plans and pertinent contact information.

E-Bills and Payment Deadline

Payment of all current and past-due charges is required before the beginning of each semester. The payment deadline for the Fall 2014 semester is Wednesday, Aug. 13. Tuition and fees for Fall 2014 will be set in May 2014.

Students registered for classes will receive an e-bill approximately three weeks before the semester’s payment deadline.  E-bills will be sent to the student’s RU email address.  E-bills will be sent weekly, until the payment deadline date, for any accounts that have new activity since the previous e-bill. Students should monitor their account balance online, through My RU.

Payment in full, including any adjustments since the original e-bill, is required by the deadline of Aug 13 to avoid a $75 late fee and classes being dropped.

Students can set up as many as five authorized payers to also receive e-bills (see Authorized Payers instructions below).  Authorized payers will have online access to the student’s account once they log in with the respective login and password provided by QuikPay.

Revised Drop Process for Nonpayment

On Monday, Aug. 18, classes will be dropped for any students with unpaid account balances of $750 or more that are not otherwise covered in full by enrollment in the tuition payment plan or by authorized financial aid.

Students whose classes are dropped will be required to re-register for classes during the schedule adjustment period, which will begin on Saturday, August 23, 2014.  During the schedule adjustment period, payment in full will be required on the day of registration as classes will be dropped.

Please note that tuition and fee charges will be reversed when classes are dropped, which could affect eligibility for financial aid.  Charges for room and board will not be automatically reversed.

For balances outstanding, a late fee of 10 percent, not to exceed $75, will be assessed on Aug. 15 unless you are enrolled in a tuition payment plan or have enough authorized aid to cover your charges.

Meal Plan Options

On-Campus Students

All students living on campus are required to have a meal plan and may select from three on-campus meal plan options. Descriptions and pricing for these plans may be found online at Resident Meals

All students living on campus are assigned the RU Flex Plan by default; however, this plan may be changed to one of the other on-campus meal plan options until the first day of classes (Monday, August 25, 2014) without incurring an administrative fee.

In order to make this change on-campus students should log into their MyRU portal account, click on the Finances Icon, then under the RU Express box click on the “On Campus Meal Plan Change” link. Beginning the first day of classes students must go to the RU Express Office and pay the $20 Administrative fee in order to change their meal plan.

Off-Campus Students

Students living off campus may purchase any of the six student meal plans offered.  Descriptions and pricing for these plans can be found online at Commuter Meals.

Off-campus meal plans can be purchased in one of several ways:

  • To purchase your meal plan online with Visa, MasterCard, or Discover, log in your RU Express account, by using your nine digit RU ID number and password.  Once your transaction is complete, your meal plan will be available on your RU Express Card the next business day.

  • If you wish to purchase your meal plan using cash, check, money order, excess financial aid monies, or by the QuikPay Tuition Payment Plan, print the Off-Campus Meal Plan Application. The completed form and appropriate payment should be returned to the RU Express Office:
    Radford University
    RU Express Office
