    Sixteen Radford University students perform nine scenes (mostly comic) from eight operas: "Zitto, zitto! Piano, piano!" (Quartet) from Rossini's “La Cenerentola” (“Cinderella”); the first scene from Menotti's “The Old Maid and the Thief;” "Via Resti Servita" and "Sull'aria" from Mozart's “Le Nozze di Figaro;” "Dunque io son" from Rossini's “Il Barbiere di Siviglia;” fly duet from Offenbach's “Orpheus in the Underworld;” dance duet from Humperdinck's “Hansel and Gretel;” the final trio from Strauss' “Der Rosenkavalier;” and "Alla Bella Despinetta" from Mozart's “Cosi fan tutte.” Students are: Zach Helms, Brandon Goss, Molly Cox, Whitney Martin, Missy Caton, Sarah Albert, Charlee Saul, Katelyn Ferris, Megan Clemmons, Samantha Onstad, Katie Metzler, Kayla Currie, Chantal Miller, Michael Smith, Abby Erdman, and Meredith Maiolo.

    Melissa Stallard’s work examines the cultural landscape throughout the Southeastern and Midwestern parts of the United States. Her work has been exhibited nationally including solo exhibitions and as part of the Compé 13: International Photography Exhibition at Project Basho in Philadelphia. Most recently, her work has been featured online in The Oxford American’s "Eyes on The South" and as part of FotoFilmic’s Artist Feature. Stallard is an Assistant Professor and Coordinator of the photography program at the Mary Schiller Myers School of Art at The University of Akron. Gallery is closed from 12-1 p.m.

The event starts with each author sharing an excerpt from their work and ends with a discussion panel between the authors and the audience.     The spring dance concert offers a broad spectrum of movement styles and diverse musical selections. Guest choreographers will stage or create contemporary works especially for the Radford University Dance Theatre. The concert also features original works by the dance faculty.     The Radford University Percussion Ensemble presents their annual spring concert with special guest Anders Astrand from Sweden. Anders is one of the foremost percussionists in the world today and travels extensively as a performer, composer and pedagog. The concert features Anders performing his own compositions with the assistance of the ensemble. Anders appearance is made possible by the generous support of Radford's International Studies Program and CPC, as well as Yamaha Percussion, Zildjian Cymbals, Evans Drum Heads and Innovative Percussion.

    The 14th Annual Radford University International Guitar Festival will bring internationally noted Guitarist performers to the sonic splendor of the Performance Hall in the Covington Center for Visual and Performing Arts, April 10-12, 2015. Performers include: Enrique Muñoz (Spain), Martha Masters (USA), Richard Stone (USA – Archlute and Theorbo), Marco Battaglia (Italy – 19th century guitar), Boris Diaz (Cuba/Mexico), RU Alumni – Kareem McCullough.
