Research Interests:

My research interests lie in the field of medicinal and synthetic chemistry. Currently my research group is involved in the synthesis of small molecule inhibitors of GABA reuptake. The regulation of GABA in the central nervous system (CNS) has been shown to have therapeutic effects in persons suffering from epilepsy and neuropathic pain. I also have interests in designing a new route to beta-amino alcohol compounds that have been shown to be inhibitors of the reuptake of serotonin, norepinephrine, and dopamine (“the big three”). Inhibiting reuptake of these neurotransmitters has been shown to help with persons suffering from anxiety and depression.
