Meet Devin LaPuasa ’10, the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) at LewisGale Hospital Montgomery.
LaPuasa's journey into nursing began in third grade following an emergency appendectomy,
during which a nurse's superhero-like presence inspired her to pursue a career in
healthcare.
“When I chose nursing, there was no other program I was going to attend,” LaPuasa
said. Radford University’s stellar reputation cemented her decision. Now with over
12 years of experience in the Emergency Room (ER), LaPuasa advanced to the role of
ER Director in 2021. In February, she embraced the opportunity to serve as CNO.
As CNO, LaPuasa oversees all nursing services at LewisGale, ensuring that frontline
nurses have the necessary resources and support to excel in their roles. She emphasizes
the high standards set by Radford University, expressing confidence in the preparedness
and professionalism of Radford graduates entering the hospital.
“Nursing is very fulfilling,” LaPuasa said. Despite its challenges, she finds immense
joy in caring for people on their best and worst days. Her passion for connecting
with and helping others shines through in her daily work, making each day unique and
rewarding.

professionals.
