Radford University is committed to increasing awareness regarding hazing prevention for all clubs, organizations, and teams.

In January 2022, Senate Bill 439, also called “Adam’s Law” which focuses on hazing prevention for all colleges in Virginia, passed with a unanimous vote from the Virginia Senate. The law is named in memory of VCU student Adam Oakes, who died in February 2021.

To be in compliance with Adam’s Law, Student Involvement is offering this training to all members of clubs and organizations.

The goal of this event is to get first-year students into the science building, have fun with fellow peers, and get to meet our awesome faculty. Although the target is first-year students, all students and faculty are welcome.

There will be games and snacks, but the main activity will be a bingo card for students to complete as they participate in faculty-led experiences. Most students who attend complete the bingo card where they get a stamp for visiting each table/activity. In the past tables have included a bit more than just an info table, sometimes a matching game, coloring, Legos, button making, etc.

Radford University is committed to increasing awareness regarding hazing prevention for all clubs, organizations, and teams.

In January 2022, Senate Bill 439, also called “Adam’s Law” which focuses on hazing prevention for all colleges in Virginia, passed with a unanimous vote from the Virginia Senate. The law is named in memory of VCU student Adam Oakes, who died in February 2021.

To be in compliance with Adam’s Law, Student Involvement is offering this training to all members of clubs and organizations.
