Detailed Description of Conduct of Course
The course will be a supplement to other courses taught in the athletic training education program. Students will meet weekly with the instructor of this course to demonstrate proficiency of various athletic training psychomotor skills.
Goals and Objectives of the Course
Students will demonstrate specific psychomotor skills. The specific skills required will be dependent upon the student's semester in the Athletic Training Education Program.
Assessment Measures
All skills in any given semester must be successfully completed for a student to receive a passing grade in the class. This is necessary to ensure the program's learning-over-time component (an accreditation standard) is maintained.
In addition, grades in this course will be awarded based upon the student successfully performing the psychomotor skills in a timely manner throughout the semester. Each week students will be assigned a series of skills that must be attempted and mastered. This will be the student's "quota" for the week. The student's grade will be assigned based upon the number of quotas they miss.
0-1 miss = A
2-3 misses = B
4-5 misses = C
6-7 misses = D
7 or more misses = F
