V. Course Description:
Development of communication skills in the context of teams in organizational and professional settings. Students study the structure of effective teamwork, group process, problem solving, and leadership.
VI. Detailed Description of Conduct of Course:
Students will work in teams to put communication theories in to practice, but individual assignments are also a part of this course. Typically, groups of 4-6 students will complete a series of assignments that allow them to practice the teamwork-related theories and skills they are learning. The assignments may include in-class team-building as well as longer group projects, written reflections, and peer evaluations.

Assessment measures may include traditional examinations, team presentations, graded papers and team/individual reflections and assignments, as well as graded in-class exercises and out-of-class assignments. Both group and individual assignments are prepared to assess understanding of group concepts and the ability to put them into practice.
