CRJU 698: Directed Study
Prerequisites: Approval of the advisor, department chair, and dean of the Graduate
College.
Semi-autonomous, independent research on a topic of interest to the student and the
criminal justice system. Provides an opportunity to develop a high degree of conceptual
sophistication on specific topics.
Detailed Description of Content of Course
Semi-structured research designed to allow the student to develop a research proposal
and to investigate in greater detail topics of current interest to criminal justice.
The student will be expected to develop both a written and oral presentation on a
topic selected in consultation with the directed study supervisor by using both primary
and secondary research sources.
