Detailed Description of Conduct of Course


Freshman Seminar is an introductory course to performance in Dance as an academic discipline. Directed by the professor of record, students will explore movement via embodied, field and archival studies that draw from resources available in the Department of Dance, the library and the university at large.


Goals and Objectives of the Course

Upon Successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
    1) Reconstruct movement from primary sources
    2) Recognize movement motifs in primary sources
    3) Explain through oral presentations and written exercises the relationship between embodied


Assessment Measures

May include class participation; Oral presentations; Written assignments; Midterm Evaluation; Final
