COBE 190: Business Internship
Prerequisites: Minimum 2.0 GPA and designation as a business major.
Credit Hours: (1-3)
Students are exposed to basic business practice through work assignments with a local
or regional organization. The number of work hours, credit hours and grade for the
work performed determined by the faculty member or members sponsoring the student.
A grade of Pass or Fail is given.
Detailed Description of Course
Students will work for a local or regional organization to observe firsthand the practice
of business, while also contributing their skills and knowledge as needed. A final
reflective paper will summarize what has been learned regarding the practice of business
in general, and the practice of specific business disciplines. A grade of Pass or
Fail will be assigned for this course.
Detailed Description of Conduct of Course
Students in COBE190 will find and secure an internship with a local or regional organization
during the Fall, Spring, or Summer session.
Goals and Objectives of the Course
Having successfully completed the Introduction to Business Internship, the students
will have a better understanding of what a particular business does, who it serves,
and the decisions made.
Assessment Measures
The students will be evaluated on their performance through formal feedback from the
immediate supervisor and the final reflective paper.
Other Course Information
The student will be graded on a Pass-Fail basis.
