DSN 400: Special Topics in Design
Prerequisites: Permission of Instructor
Credit Hours: (1-6)
A study of a current topic that is of interest in the area of design, with emphasis
on new developments, technology, or research in the various areas.
Note(s): May be repeated for credit for a maximum of 9 hours, provided a new topic
is explored each time. Grading option can be either A-F or pass/fail.
Detailed Description of Content of Course
Course content will be based upon the current topic being studied and will be presented to students prior to their enrollment. Topics covered will address issues not covered in depth in courses already taken.
Detailed Description of Conduct of Course
Course conduct will be determined at the time the topic to be studied is proposed. Course conduct can be all lecture, all studio or a lecture/studio combination, equivalent to the requirements for the semester hours of credit proposed.
Goals and Objectives
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will demonstrate an ability to describe the topic studied and its relationship to his/her program of study and/or career goal. Specific goals and objectives will be determined when topic is identified.
Assessment Measures
Assessment procedures to determine the student’s success in the course will be outlined at the time the topic to be studied is proposed. Upon completion, the student will receive an evaluation summary on work completed.
