EDUC 699: Research and Thesis

Credit Hours: Hours and credit to be arranged with the approval of the dean of the Graduate College.  See “Thesis” in the Graduate Catalog.

 

Detailed Description of the Content of Course

A student planning to do a thesis should submit a proposal to the dean of the Graduate College at least two weeks before the end of the semester preceding the semester when the work will begin.  The proposal is submitted on a form, available in the Graduate Office, which must be signed by the student’s adviser, by the graduate faculty member who will direct the work, and by the other members of the student’s committee.

The particular style used in writing a thesis is determined by the thesis director.  Basic guidelines for all theses can be obtained from the Graduate College Office.

The thesis grade will be recorded as “pass” or  “fail”.

Students who plan to do a thesis are advised to begin serious planning of this work during the first semester of enrollment as a graduate student.
